EVSNET key research areas include:

Infectious disease monitoring and prevention
We aim to investigate equine preventative health care using electronic health records. Additionally, to enhance surveillance for Strangles, a significant equine disease, while improving understanding of diagnostic decision-making and disease management.

Antimicrobial use and resistance
In collaboration with microbiology researchers, EVSNET examines antimicrobial prescribing and antimicrobial resistance patterns in equine medicine, contributing to strategies that optimise responsible antimicrobial use.

Parasitic diseases and management
Partnering with parasitology researchers, we assess the use of diagnostic tests and anthelmintic use in equine medicine.

Equine welfare and non-infectious diseases
Potential to explore conditions such as gastrointestinal disorders, neoplasia, lameness, and metabolic diseases, as well as the use of diagnostics and treatment outcomes in veterinary practice.
